Amber & Copal with inclusions + Amber / Copal / Jewellery
Amber is fossilised resin, gum or sap of ancient plants, especially trees such as pines, firs and spruces. The tree would produce the resin to form a sealant to cover and cracks, breaks, gashes or wounds in the bark, just as our blood clots to seal a cut in the skin.
Occasionally smaller creatures, such as flies, other insects, spiders, even small frogs, lizards and some mammals could become stuck in this adhesive secretions, as would plant items like fragments of leaves or twigs. If the resin or sap continued to ooze fairly quickly it may cover and encase the specimen, preserving every tiny detail.
Amber can date back to as far back as the Early Cretaceous period (146 - 100 Million Years Ago) but is very rare and most date from the Tertiary Period (65-2.58 Million Years Ago).
Amber has been admired for its colour and natural beauty since Neolithic times.
Famous deposits occur in the Dominican Republic, Caribbean and the Baltic region of Europe.
Along with it being use for its colour and beauty in jewellery, Amber is also used for its metaphysical properties and said to help with all round general health and offering protection and booting of personal energy.
Crystal Electric lamps & T-Light holders
Himalayan Salt - Rose Quartz - Selenite
Himalayan crystal salt lamps are said to create anions (negatively charged ions) in the air. It's widely considered that electrical equipment can create potentially harmful positively charged ions (cations) in the air and cause air quality to deteriorate, using a salt lamp may help counter the cations.
Salt Lamps can be used with an electric bulb or T-Light candle(s) depending on type, both emit a soft, golden light which can be pleasant in the home, with its relaxing glow.
These lamps are made of natural crystal salt from underground mines in the Himalayas. This salt is millions of years old and as well as having the properties described above, they also have a very high mineral content. Just as being near a waterfall or at the seaside exposes us to beneficial high concentrations of anions, these lamps can be very good to help combat conditions such as allergies or asthma.
Rose Quartz is a member of the Quartz family, a silicon dioxide crystal with a hexagonal (trigonal) crystal system.
It usually occurs in massive form but sometimes grows in clusters of small prismatic crystals. Itís name is derived from itís colour, which ranges from very pale pink to deep reddish pink. Itís clarity can range from opaque to translucent to transparent, although most transparent pieces are rather foggy.
Rose Quartz is found in Brazil and Madagascar, as well as South Dakota in the USA.
Rose Quartz is said to be one of the most humble, yet powerful of the spiritual allies. Itís said to to help calm the mind, assisting one in releasing worry, fears, anxiety and past emotional trauma. It may clear the emotional body of ego-driven patterns and may help one feel more open to receiving and sharing love, compassion and kindness.
It is said to be a gentle stabilising stone for physical heart trauma and imbalance. It may help the heart make the shift from stress-based physiology to the higher frequencies of love-based physiology. It is said to ideal for premature babies and young children with heart weakness or disease but may be used by anyone who needs a stronger, more stable heart.
Selenite is a hydrous calcium sulphate mineral. Itís is a form of gypsum and is called Selenite if it is relatively clear and well formed. Selenite is closely related to fibrous gypsum, also known as Satin Spar, and the massive, fine-grained form known as Alabaster.
Itís crystals are typically tabular, with striations running along the length. Selenite is formed as an evaporate in clay beds and around hot springs. Enhydro crystals containing inclusions of water and gas bubbles are found relatively frequently. Some Selenite crystals have the startling property of being soft and flexible enough to be bent in oneís hands. Selenite can be colourless, grey, white, green or golden brown.
Selenite is found in many countries, including Australia, Greece, Mexico and the USA. The best known and most popular Selenite crystals for metaphysical use are the long, clear crystals from Mexico.
