Copal

Copal is a name given to a tree resin which can often be found with insect and plant inclusions, it also can be burned on a charcoal block for it’s aromas often as a constituent in church incense.


The term copal describes resinous substances in an intermediate stage of polymerization and hardening of the more well known Amber tree resin, Copal is less than one million years old.  Amber is generally over one million years old.
