The colour of Rubies is a pinkish red to blood-red coloured, a variety of corundum.

The colour of a ruby is due to the element Chromium.  Fuchsite is a green variety of muscovite mica, the Chromium in Fuchsite gives it it’s

bright green colour.  There are 98 Different minerals which contain Chromium.
