Witches Fingers also known as Thetis’ Hair and Amphibole Angle Quartz, with Actinolite an Amphibole or Tremolite minerals and Mica

The green colour of Actinolite is produced by the iron, with the amount of iron producing different shades of green. With more iron will give a mineral a darker colour.

Mica forms in sheets of silicate minerals, often tiny bits of Mica will give an assortment of minerals a glittery sparkly appearance.

Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in the Earth’s continental crust, after feldspar.  Occurring in many mineral environments, forms and colours, including being an important constituent of many rocks.

Actinolite and Tremolite are two very similar minerals that share the same chemical formula.  Actinolite has a greater presence of iron over magnesium, whereas Tremolite has a greater presence of magnesium over iron.

Caution, in raw form, Actinolite and Tremolite both contain a form of asbestos which is fibrous.  Actinolite asbestos is less common, more common is Tremolite. This form of the mineral contains significant health hazards.

Here at London Fossils Crystals I sell a wide range of Tumble Stones

Tumble stones are so called because a number of stones of similar sizes are placed in a barrel which is rotated (tumbled) at a speed and after a time between 3 - 5 weeks the stones are polished from rough to smooth.

(The Tumble stones we sell, have not been tumbled by ourselves)
