The often seen sparkle in Aventurine is from tiny pieces Mica.

Aventurine is a member of the Quartz family, a silicon dioxide mineral. It’s structure is hexagonal (trigonal) and is crypto-crystalline. Its name is derived from the Italian a Ventura, a type of glass discovered around the year 1700. The name was chosen because of the likeness of the glass with its randomly spaced iridescent sparkles to these stones with their similar markings. Aventurine is found assorted colours,  green, blue, silver-white, peach-orange and red-brown. The colour of Green Aventurine comes from microscopic Fuchsite particles within the Quartz, and the colour of Red and Peach-Orange Aventurine comes form inclusions of Hematite. Blue Aventurine is coloured by inclusions of Dumortierite.  Major deposits of Aventurine are found in Brazil, India, and Russia.

Here at London Fossils Crystals I sell a wide range of Tumble Stones

Tumble stones are so called because a number of stones of similar sizes are placed in a barrel which is rotated (tumbled) at a speed and after a time between 3 - 5 weeks the stones are polished from rough to smooth.
(The Tumble stones we sell, have not been tumbled by ourselves)
