Discovered in 1902 and named after Tiffany & Co. mineralogist George Frederick Kunz. Kunzite is a pale to lilac/pink variety of Spodumene. A pyroxene mineral consisting of lithium aluminium in-silicate.


Kunzite is an important source of lithium.
