Obelisk are a four sided, narrow tapering monument which ends in a pyramid shape at the top. Coming from Greek term obeliskos, obelisk were prominent in the architecture of the ancient Egyptians and were called tekhenu. For Egyptians, the obelisk was a reverential monument, commemorating the dead, representing their kings, and honouring their gods.

  

Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar, a sodium calcium aluminium silicate. Its crystal structure is triclinic, usually in complex aggregates. Its name is derived from the Labrador peninsula in Canada, where the stone was first found in 1770. It is treasured for its remarkable play of colour (labradorescence), which shows vivid flashes of green, blue, gold, orange, red and some times violet. 


Labradorite is found in Canada, Madagascar, Finland, were its know as Spectrolite and it has also been found in Mexico, Russia and the United States.



With its many colours, which can be revelled or enhanced when viewed from different angles, Labradorite can be a very captivating mineral, and may help with bringing a calmness, relaxation to the mind, may help with stress, anxiety, and temper.
