Since ancient times, been regarded as the sailors' lucky stone.

so a Crystal of understanding, courage and strength great for a lasting friendship or relationship.

Aquamarine named from the Latin word ‘aqua’ water and ‘mare’ sea and often known as the gemstone of the sea.  A quality transparent or opaque  variety of beryl forming in a Hexagonal crystal shape or as a massive.  With colours from sky blue to a deep blue and blue-green to green colour suggestive of the tint of sea water.

Aquamarines have been found in Nigeria, Zambia, Madagascar, Mozambique, China, Himalayas (Afghanistan) and Pakistan.

7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale ofter found with flawless crystals, unlike its cousin Emerald which usually flawed or heavily included minerals.

Most Gem Aquamarines on the market are heat treated. Natural Aquamarine is is usually lighter and more greener in colour, and heat treatment creates deeper bluer hues. While natural deeper bluish hues do exist, they are uncommon. The gemstone industry considers it an acceptable practice to heat treat Aquamarines, but unfortunately this is not always made clear when purchasing in trade or retail.

Here at London Fossils Crystals I sell a wide range of Tumble Stones

Tumble stones are so called because a number of stones of similar sizes are placed in a barrel which is rotated (tumbled) at a speed and after a time between 3 - 5 weeks the stones are polished from rough to smooth.
(The Tumble stones we sell, have not been tumbled by ourselves)
