Dumortierite - Light Blue - 1 to 2cm Tumbled Stone

Not discovered until the end of the 1800s and name after its discoverer, the French palaeontologist Eugene Dumortier.

Dumortierite is an aluminium borate silicate mineral, its crystal system is orthorhombic. Its usual growing habits are massive, radiating, fibrous and columnar, sometimes it can form in prismatic crystals.

It’s colour include dark blue, violet blue and red-brown and can be found in Brazil, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Canada, Poland, France, Namibia and the USA.

Dumortierite is used in the manufacture of high grade porcelain.

Dumortierite’s energies is said to help support those who feel mentally foggy, unable to focus or concentrate, or energetically blocked.

Dumortierite has become associated with the planet Uranus because it is believed by some that both crystal and planet bring about change in unexpected ways.

Dumortierite, tumbled to a smooth finish, an ideal pocket size stone, small enough to carry around with you. Tumble Stones can also be placed around the home for their energies or can just be nice decorative items.

A crystal gemstone of varying sizes and quality selected specially for your order.

Size approximately 1 to 2 cm

Here at London Fossils Crystals I sell a wide range of Tumble Stones

Tumble stones are so called because a number of stones of similar sizes are placed in a barrel which is rotated (tumbled) at a speed and after a time between 3 - 5 weeks the stones are polished from rough to smooth.

(The Tumble stones we sell, have not been tumbled by ourselves)
