Obelisk are a four sided, narrow tapering monument which ends in a pyramid shape at the top. Coming from Greek term obeliskos, obelisk were prominent in the architecture of the ancient Egyptians and were called tekhenu. For Egyptians, the obelisk was a reverential monument, commemorating the dead, representing their kings, and honouring their gods.

  

Calcite is a very common and widespread mineral which comes in a variety of colours, such as White, Yellow, Red, Orange, Blue, Green, Brown, Grey.


It also occurs in a wide variety of forms, the molecular structure of the crystals is rhombohedral (cube like) but specimens can appear as as scalenohedrons (mirror image pyramid shape), prisms (triangle like), masses (consisting of or forming a large mass), stalactites (icicle like). 


Calcite makes up the major part of most marbles and limestones.



 

 

Orange Calcite - Like green and blue Calcite, Orange Calcite occurs in massive forms, though is often fashioned into spheres and other shapes. Orange Calcite is said to bring a calm and balances energy.
